Laundry never ends!

The laundry at our house seems like its never ending and we have another one on the way which means more clothes and dirty diapers. To save a bit of money I have learned to make my own soap. This batch makes 10 gallons! I have been sharing it with my mom and gram and it has lasted months.

-one bar of soap (grated and it can be any kind of soap)
-1/2 cup of borax
-1 cup Baking soda (or washing soda)
-one 5 gallon bucket

First you grate the soap. I got a little help and she took a small bite of the bar.

Then you boil 4 cups of water and then add the soap until it dissolves. Mean while fill your bucket half full with hot water.

My beautiful Dawning took almost as much out as I put in.

Once soap is disolved add it to the bucket along with the borax and baking soda.

Then stir until mixed and fill the rest of the bucket with hot water.

When you are ready to use fill your container half full with the soap mix and then fill the rest with water. Do this every time you run out of your smaller bucket and you will get 10 gallons of laundry soap.

I cannot believe my eyes...

My little girl is getting so big! I have pulled out some of my old toys and every morning (as well as other times during the day) she plays with her barn and her people.

Here is the Momma

The Daddy

The big girl

She doesn't play with her toys like I remember doing, but she does a very good job at it. she can make them climb the latter in the barn and she opens doors. Today she had her big girl and the momma dancing as she sang.

Soon we will have to pull out a baby for her so she will have everyone in her family!
