Have you ever gone to a new restaurant thinking it will be reasonably priced?
Well, that's what we did the other day. We went to a sushi restaurant here in Bethel thinking we had enough cash to eat there. Then we entered and it was pretty fancy! my dear husband had just gotten out of work and was still in his work clothes and we had our little dawning with us who had been snacking all day and wasn't really to hungry. Now we sat down and looked at the menu I am allergic to shrimp and I'm not to keen on raw fish (I know its a sushi restaurant) so, there was one meal that I could eat and the thing they bring out before our food just happened to be shrimp. My meal cost $17 and my hubby's was $20! Little Dawning threw the food on the floor and tried hard to take my chopsticks so we had to ask for her own set.
We will probably never go there again especially with our little one.

Valentines prep part two
I also made No bake Oreo Cheesecake I of course had the help from my little dawning.
To make the crust
1 1/2 C crushed gram cracker
1/4 C packed brown sugar
7Tbs unsalted butter (melted)
Then put into the cups and set them aside.
Then you take 2 1/4 C heavy cream and beat until medium peaks form then set aside
This is the fun part
You take Oreos and crush them!
then you take
1pnd cream chees softened
2/3 C sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1Tbs lemon juice
2tsp vanilla powder (or 4tsp vanilla extract) I couldnt find the powder anywhere!
mix in 3/4 C crushed oreos
then add the heavy cream
put in cups
put in the fridge for at least 6 hours they are better over night. when ready to serve top with whip cream (my Dad and I made our own with real cream right from the cow!) add an Oreo cookie and enjoy!
The teens cleaned and decorated the dinning room of our little Nazarene Church in Bethel. Then they cooked homemade Mac'n cheese with ham and they put salad together as well. They were dressed nicely and they did a great job in the preperation, serving and the clean up!

Valentines prep part one
Getting ready for the Valentines banquet that my teens put on. I told them that I would make the deserts.
Little Dawning wanted to help. I gave her oatmeal to play with and she thought she would eat it.
First, we started with sugar cookies. We used the recipe my Gram gave me.
4C Flour
1tsp salt
2tsp Baking Powder
1tsp Baking Soda
1C Butter (soft)
2C Sugar
2 Eggs
1tsp Vanilla
1C Sour Milk
Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 min
Well I wanted to make them into hearts and lips. I fought with the dough for 30 min then put it in the fridge and later the freezer before I could finely get them to spread so that I could get them cut up.
The teens decorated them with frosting and sprinkles.
